job professionalism vs. trans guy, football and running addict, bookworm, designer toys geek, somewhat of a loner, sarcasm times 2, ....

There are over 500,000 professional footballers, yet openly gay players appear almost entirely absent. It is often claimed that the problem lies with an intolerant fan culture, but a new study reveals that 93% of football fans oppose homophobia and would support openly gay players. The study, published in the British Journal of Sociology, identifies conservative clubs and agents to be the sport’s strongest barriers to change.

Me: Amy LePeilbet is high-fiving her teammates.  Zoom in more, camera.

Camera: WON’T.

Me: This is clearly not the limit of your zoom.  Do as I say.

Camera: SHAN’T.

Me: What did I buy you for?  To make me sad?

Camera: Deal with it.

This is so going to be me in 2 weeks! *trying to digest the camera manual*

Great to hear!

I really hope it’s true.

This better be true! My eye sight is bad enough as it is.

uuh, my dash is being flooded by red and white stripes. It’s going to be an interesting eye exam today.

Amy LePeilbet makes the 2012 Olympic Team
She’s played the beautiful game for 20 years.
As a rookie in 2004 she didn’t make the Olympic squad.
In the prime of her career, she was robbed of both the 2007 WWC and the 2008 Olympics due to injury.  For two years she didn’t play.  She watched her friends and teammates win Olympic gold while she sat at home.
Now, finally, the third time is a charm.  At age 30 LeP is finally getting her first chance to represent the USA at the Olympics.
When you think about all that she has been through and how she’s fought so hard for all these years, working twice as hard to be half as good, overcoming endless injuries, battling naysayers and critics, to get to this moment.  How can you not be proud to be her fan?

YEAH!! It was a long journey for her. Hard work and perseverance has paid off. So excited for her!

I’m just saying, if you were to get a haircut, you probably wouldn’t have to fix it all the time.

should we start collecting money and give her a voucher for the hair dresser of her choice?

Playing a super important game called “do not go out tomorrow and buy a telephoto zoom lens. DO NOT.”

Problem sounds familiar. Hope you find a good deal.

Mmh… Sounds pretty obvious to me. Ashlyn H. is currently competing for the 3rd GK slot with Jill L. Converting Kelly O’Hara into a defender has a negative effect on Steph C. A roster of 18 is really, really small. We’ll see who will be named for the reserve slots. Both of them may still travel to the UK that way.

In the WPS All-Star voting breakdown, Boston Breakers’ defender Amy LePeilbet received the highest number of votes among player balloting for the second year in a row, with 70% of players voting for the league’s Defender of the Year.
That’s respect.

Word! And some folks out there wonder why she is on the USWNT.*shaking my head*
